Angelina Jolie brought an unexpected date to the Governor’s Awards on November 17: her 16-year-old son, Knox Jolie-Pitt, whom she shares with her ex Brad Pitt.
While Jolie’s older children have often accompanied the actor/director to red carpet events, Knox, the youngest of her six kids alongside his twin sister Vivienne, hasn’t had as much of a presence at his mother’s events. In fact, the last time Knox attended any kind of Hollywood event, back in 2021, he was a foot shorter.
On Sunday night, however, Knox posed for the cameras with his mom on his arm in a simple but elegant tuxedo. Jolie, meanwhile, was glowing in an unlabeled vintage gown from The Kit Vintage, which she styled with stunning drop earrings and a diamond choker necklace.
In an Instagram post about Jolie’s dress, The Kit Vintage shared some insight into the 49-year-old’s shopping habits. “Every time Angelina shops with us, she comes in on her own,” reads the caption. “She is very present, engaged, and chooses each piece. There has not ever been a stylist with her to hold her hand or a FaceTime to a friend. It is her surrounding herself with vintage, inspired by what she puts on next.”
But let’s be honest, the thing about this photo that I can’t stop thinking about his Knox’s height. In another photo, Jolie gives a glimpse of her platform heels, which add a few inches to her 5′ 7″ frame. Knox appears to be nearly the same height in these photos, meaning he’s quickly approaching his dad’s 5’11” stature. He already bears a striking resemblance to Pitt, so we can only imagine that in a few years he’ll achieve full doppelgänger status.
At the moment, it doesn’t seem that any of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s children—Maddox, 23, Pax, 20, Zahara, 19, Shiloh, 18, Vivienne and Knox, both 16—are following in their parents’ footsteps with roles in front of the camera. And that’s just fine with Angie.
“I think they’re especially shy, very private people,” Jolie told E! News last month. “They want to be private.” But that’s not to say they’re shunning show biz entirely. Maddox and Pax both worked behind-the-scenes on Jolie’s latest project, Maria, while Vivienne interned on Broadway’s The Outsiders, which Jolie executive-produced. Zahara is currently a student at Spelman College, while Shiloh is “dedicated” to pursuing dance.
So what’s next for Knox Jolie-Pitt? Nothing we can say for certain, other than a couple more growth spurts.
