SPOILER ALERT: This post contains details from the season finale of The Golden Bachelorette, including if Joan gets engaged and, if so, to whom.
The wait is finally over. Audiences found out Wednesday night who Golden Bachelorette is engaged to in the two-hour season finale.
Last week’s Men Tell All saw Joan reunite with her golden men, including Pascal, after he exited during fantasy suites, telling Joan that he wasn’t in love with her. It’s down to Guy and Chock, who have one more date each with Joan, where they will meet her family, before they get down on one knee.
Back in Tahiti, Joan is still reeling about Pascal, and she’s having a hard time figuring out how she’ll forge ahead now, because she can feel herself becoming guarded again. She gets a visit from her Golden Bachelor ally Nancy, who gives her a pep talk before her final dates, reminding her that she is very much still worthy of love, even if Pascal wasn’t her person.

Once Joan is feeling a bit better, she prepares herself to see her family before her final dates. The yacht they’ve been sailing on has made its way to Bora Bora, where they’ll spend the days leading to the engagement — and where the eventual proposal will happen.
She knows she can’t make a final decision until she sees her kids. She’s also worried about how her kids might react to seeing her with another man, after losing their father.
First up is Chock. He will be meeting her daughter Ally and her husband Noah and her oldest son Nick and his fiancée Brooke. His first order of business? Giving her a kiss! Just like he did with his own family, he wants to make sure Joan’s family knows how much he cares about her.
Nick quickly pulls Chock aside to talk, admitting that he’s nervous about the short timeline and wants to understand more about Chock’s feelings for her. He says his dad was amazing, and losing him was so hard, but Joan helped usher the family through that heartache. He also says he has high expectations for whoever marries his mom. Chock assures Nick that he’s not trying to replace their father, and he is very in love with Joan.
In their own conversation, Joan tells Nick she was afraid the kids might be angry with her for moving on, because she would never want to replace their dad. But, Nick tells her that all they feel is pride, because she’s taking a risk to find another love.
By the end of these conversations, the kids are feeling pretty confident that Chock could make a great addition to the family, and Chock is on Cloud 9.
Now, it’s time for Chock and Joan to have their final date. Joan meets Chock at his room, where a charcuterie board and a few bottles of champagne await. Joan tells Chock he did a great job with her family and, while she’s surprised to have gotten to this place with someone in such a short period of time, she’s glad that she did.
Chock surprised Joan with a gift: a set of keys, which are symbolic for now, representing Chock’s commitment to finding a home in New York City together. It’s something they’ve been talking about as they dated, and he’s ready to make it a reality. He finally tells her that he loves her and wants to spend the rest of his life with her, but he does become a bit deflated when Joan isn’t ready to say it back.
Now, it’s time for Guy to meet Joan’s family. But wait … it looks like Guy won’t be meeting Joan’s family after all. In a shocking turn of events, Joan’s date with Chock made her realize that she’s found love, and she doesn’t want to lead Guy on if she already knows she’s going to choose Chock at the end of it.
She goes to Guy’s hotel room ahead of their date to let him know that he’ll be going home. Guy is obviously pretty devastated and blindsided by the news. He tells Joan that he fell in love with her, and he was ready to take the leap of faith with her.
After a commercial break, Guy is on stage with Jesse during the live finale to talk about the heartbreak. He says it was hard for him to watch the breakup, because his feelings for Joan were so real. He still thinks he got “so much” out of the process.
Joan joins Guy on stage, and they’re both so happy to see each other and clear the air. Guy tells Joan that everything he said to her during filming was sincere and, even though they had more of a slow burn, he did end up falling in love with her. After reflecting on the breakup, Guy wants to know if there was anything missing from their relationship that prevented her from choosing him.
Joan says that she was getting there with Guy, but ultimately she got there with Chock faster. “In any other situation, I would’ve been with you, because we’d have more time,” she admits.
Joan ends the conversation by telling Guy that she hopes they can stay in touch and, maybe one day, they’ll be double dating.
Before long, it’s time for Joan to get engaged! She looks as elegant as ever in her white halter dress with purple and pink flowers adorning the neckline, waiting for Chock on the sands of Bora Bora.
After walking down the aisle to Joan, Chock tells Joan that he can’t wait to honor her late husband John by loving her every day. He tells her over and over how much he loves her and wants her to be in his life. Joan says that she thought she saw a future with Chock from their first date at Disneyland, and she eventually realized that she had fallen in love with him.
Chock gets down on one knee, asks Joan to marry him, and she accepts! In return, Joan offers Chock the final golden rose.
