When you think of classic vintage haircuts, you’re probably not imagining bangs. But Bella Hadid is about to change that with her new, face-framing cut.
Unlike the straight curtain bangs of the Y2K-era or the heavily teased fringes of the ‘80s, Hadid’s mid-century bangs are lightly curled forward in the front to create a little volume but are not parted in the center, making them a little more Jane Birkin and a little less Brigitte Bardot. It’s a style also endorsed by the likes of Cher and Jane Fonda back in the day.

Hadid’s, styled by Syd Hayes, are flanked by face-framing layers, which she debuted in Dubai in early November.
Bella Hadid wore two outfits with the new ‘do, styled by Molly Dickson. One look was a crystal-embellished, vintage Elie Saab couture gown circa 2004. The other was a belted black Thierry Mugler dress from the 1980s, according to Dickson’s Instagram.
Hadid isn’t alone in her embrace of the coquettish bangs style. They’ve also been seen on Emily Ratajkowski, Dakota Johnson, and Lily Collins. Other stars, such as Kylie Jenner, have also been rocking old-school bangs, but in a more voluminous, bedroom-y style with a strong curl and center part.
