Seth Rollins, one of the most beloved living professional wrestlers in the world, seems just about ready to call it a day, telling a reporter, “I’m closer to the end than the beginning.”

Rollins recently appeared at WWE Crown Jewel in Riyadh, where he faced off against “Big” Bronson Reed in the culmination of a feud that began on Raw back in June. After an impressive match, Rollins hit Reed with a Super Curb Stomp off the top rope to score a pinfall victory.

The Visionary was gracious in victory, saying “I want to take a second to give a little credit to Bronson Reed…he brought every single thing that he had, he took everything that I had to dish out. He was violent. He was devious, he was vicious. He was everything that I expected and more, and I needed that test to get to where I want to go.”
However, not long after that, he also spoke to MBC Loud and hinted that he was nearing retirement, 12 years after his WWE debut. Rollins said, “Don’t make me feel any older than I am… I don’t know, honestly how much gas I got left in the tank. you know I’m closer to the end than the beginning, So, I’m just trying to give everything I got every time I go out there.”
Rollins’ career in the WWE has been nothing short of legendary. He is a five-time world champion in WWE, having won the WWE Championship twice, the Universal Championship twice, and the inaugural World Heavyweight Championship.
He has also claimed the Intercontinental Championship and the United States Championship twice each. These accomplishments have earned him the distinction of being WWE’s 29th Triple Crown Champion and 19th Grand Slam Champion, and he is also the second wrestler to achieve the Grand Slam title twice under the updated 2015 criteria.
Furthermore, Rollins is the only wrestler to have won the WWE Championship, Universal Championship, World Heavyweight Championship, and NXT Championship.

But his career has also been plagued with injuries, including a torn meniscus that took him out of the ring after Wrestlemania XL. His recent feud with Reed began as a work to explain a legitimate injury that prevented him from in-ring appearances for months.
A dozen years after his WWE debut (and his numerous years of action, pre-Survivor Series), it seems that things might finally be catching up to Rollins. Hopefully, he’s still got a Fatal 4-Way match left in him.
