This week, we’ve seen a dog’s foolproof way of waking up everyone in his apartment complex and the moment a cat “picked his spot” on the ofrenda.

Winner
This week’s Pets of the Week are Toby and Tilly, two rescued 5-year-old dogs who are inseparable.
In a hilarious video, Toby and Tilly are tethered by a double leash. On one of their usual walks, Tilly stopped for her favorite ritual: a spontaneous roll in the grass. Unfazed by her pause, Toby, the patient “big brother,” waited for her to finish. But, this time, something spooked him—a distant rooster crowing. Determined to get to the car, Toby gently tugged Tilly along, even as she continued her playful rolling.
“He’s the most patient big brother,” owner Jennifer Wallace told Newsweek. “So many viewers found this hilarious. And while he was determined to get to the car, Tilly just kept on rolling until he ultimately had to drag her a bit.”
In the video, Wallace said that Toby “can’t take her anywhere,” and on Instagram, people couldn’t get enough.
“That’s just one of the many things that I love about my dogs. They’re always so happy and often hilarious and make me—and others—smile and laugh daily,” Wallace added.
Finalists
Our first finalist this week is SuzyQ, a full-blooded Chihuahua and “spoiled rotten,” according to owner Thelma Oatman.
In a series of pictures, SuzyQ enjoys a ride in the car, relaxes on a cozy blanket, and even has a trip to the store in a shopping cart.
Having lived with her owner since she was just 3 months old, SuzyQ knows exactly where she stands in the household.
Our next finalist this week is Leo, a 10-year-old rescue dog, who was rescued in the U.K. from Greece aged 4.
Yvonne Warren told Newsweek he was “a street dog” who is now “enjoying the luxury of a home for the rest of his life.”
Last but not least this week is Charlie, a ginger-and-white cat who was adopted a year ago by owner Diane Fowler.
“Unfortunately, his owner had passed away, and he ended up at a shelter. He was being passed over for adoption since he was 10 and had one eye that wasn’t working too good,” Fowler told Newsweek.
Now though, Charlie has settled in well, and loves to be the center of attention. “He has settled in great and is a sweet, goofy boy that enjoys sitting in the middle of our morning newspaper. We love him so much,” Fowler said.
