Agatha All Along has been surpassing viewership expectations on Disney+ with just one week until the Season 1 finale next week.
Disney reports that Episode 7, which showrunner Jac Schaeffer directed, drove 4.2M views globally after just one day of streaming, up 35% from the premiere episodeâs performance.
Like Netflix, Disney defines views as total stream time divided by runtime.
Although one-day performance data was not released for the show’s premiere episode, Disney revealed that the first episode attracted about 9.3M views in 7 days.
According to Deadline, the fact that Disney released any viewership information means that it feels confident about the show’s performance.
The series has also made its way onto the Nielsen streaming charts. According to Nielsen, viewership declined in the second week, with 365M minutes viewed after over 400M viewed the week prior.
It’s hard to compare Agatha All Along‘s numbers to other shows on Disney+, however, since the streamer doesnât report viewership for every series and is inconsistent with its period of measurement.
Disney also never released data for Agathaâs predecessor WandaVision, despite that series also making its way onto the Nielsen streaming charts.
In Agatha All Along, the infamous Agatha Harkness (Kathryn Hanh) finds herself trapped under a spell that a suspicious goth Teen (Joe Locke) helps to break her free from. The teen pushes her to take him on the legendary Witchesâ Road to regain her power after a series of challenges.
WandaVision head writer Schaeffer serves as showrunner and directs the first two episodes, in addition to the most recent episode.
Agatha All Along will end its first season next week with two episodes to be released on Wednesday night.
