The View cohosts Whoopi Goldberg and Sunny Hostin have not taken Donald Trump‘s recent nasty insults lying down, lashing back on their show today with smiles and dagger-like responses.
Watch the segment below.
In case you missed Trump’s gauntlet-tossing statements, the former president took time from his rally in Pennsylvania yesterday – the day Florida was being devastated by Hurricane Milton – to verbally attack the View cohosts in response to the show’s interview with Kamala Harris Tuesday.
Referencing Hostin’s question to V.P. Harris about whether she’d do anything differently than President Joe Biden, Trump said, “I think the other one asking the question is dumber than Kamala. She’s a dummy. I’ve watched her over the years. That is one dumb…that is one dumb woman.”
And about Goldberg: “I have hired Whoopi to work for me as a comedian,” Trump said at the rally in Pennsylvania. “Her mouth was so foul, every word out of her mouth was like the F word. I was with a group of nice people. We had to leave. She was so filthy, dirty, disgusting. Oh, what a loser she is.”

Let’s start with Goldberg’s response:
“As it turns out I was filthy,” said the famously blunt comedian. “I was filthy and I stand on that fact. And you knew that when you hired me. I headlined, babe, at your casino which I might have continued to play had you not run it into the ground. How dumb are you that you hired me four times and you didn’t know what you were getting? How dumb are you?”
Goldberg then upped the ante: Noting that she “never grabbed anybody by their genitalia,” the View moderator said, “There’s a difference between people who assault other people and people who say words you don’t want little kids saying in church.”
Hostin also had her say. In a lengthy and butter-wouldn’t-melt take-down, Hostin said, “Donald Trump, I want to thank you for personally telling so many lies and committing so many crimes and providing us with material on a daily basis. You help us do our jobs and I’m so appreciative. Because of people like you, a former prosecutor and legal expert can become a fixture on a show like this, and again, I’m so grateful.
“I admit, I may not have spent as much time in a courtroom as you have. I was also recognized with a special achievement award by the Department of Justice. You remember the Department of Justice, right? It’s the agency that’s been pursuing you for decades.
“And like Madame Vice President Kamala Harris, I’ve had a history of prosecuting sex offenders, so thank you for keeping people like us in business. And as for dumb questions, you’re always welcome to come here and answer some if sitting so close to a prosecutor won’t make you nervous. I’ll even give you a free View mug, not to be confused though with a mug shot.”
The other View cohosts also got in some jabs. Responding to Trump’s recent comment on a podcast that he’s “basically a truthful person,” Joy Behar quipped, “And basically I am a natural redhead who’s 29 years old.”
Near the end of the segment, Goldberg said, “Here’s the real thing that everybody has to be award of. This is what irritated him, not what’s going on, hurricanes and all kinds of stuff going on in our country. But we irritated him to the point that he has to admit he does watch The View, something we all knew. So when you hear people saying, ‘I don’t watch that show,’ they are lying.
Goldberg wrapped things up by telling people impacted by Hurricane Milton, “Do not listen to anything [Trump] says because he is giving you bad information.” She directed people to The View website for information on FEMA and hurricane relief and support services.
