It’s typical for Sony to knock an extra $50 or so off its headphones once they become outdated. What’s atypical is the kind of deal that’s happening now on its WH1000XM4 over-ear headphones. Ahead of Amazon’s October Prime Day, the last-gen (but still great) noise-canceling headphones are $129.99 at Target — a whopping 63% discount — and available in black or silver (currently sold out at Amazon). They normally sell for somewhere between $200 and $250, which makes this an especially good deal and great reminder that Target is having its own deals event, Target Circle Week, now through Oct. 12.
The XM4 model are unbeatable when it comes to sound quality as well as the noise reduction qualities of its active noise cancellation. Well, to be fair, they were unbeaten until Sony’s latest XM5 model knocked them off the top spot of The Verge’s expert guide to the best noise-canceling headphones. However, for $129.99, anyone looking to buy a set of amazing headphones (and not immediately feel the sting of paying upwards to $400 for the latest model) should strongly consider today’s deal.
