A 19-year-old man is accused of stabbing someone to death over an argument about hot sauce in a Denver home on Sunday, according to police.
The clash erupted when someone in the house said they wanted to make a sandwich and asked where the hot sauce was. George Vigil told them that it was located in a bedroom upstairs, according to a police report obtained by KDVR.
The petty spat escalated and the victim challenged Vigil to a fight
Vigil, who regularly carries a switchblade, allegedly swung the knife at the victim who fell to the ground wounded, police said.
Police responded to the residence, located near the border of the Sloan Lake and Jefferson Park neighborhoods.
The victim, who has not been publicly identified, was taken to a local hospital and pronounced dead, police said.
Vigil was arrested and charged with second-degree murder.
The investigation is ongoing, cops said.
