EXCLUSIVE: Alysia Russo, who was Head of Docuseries at Amazon MGM Studios, is moving to Netflix.
It marks a rare senior executive moving directly between two rival studios.
Russo is understood to be overseeing feature docs at Netflix. She is doing maternity cover on a temporary contract, thought to be 18 months, but the hope is that this might turn into a permanent role.
Russo was behind Amazon docuseries such as LulaRich and its upcoming Glitter and Greed: The Lisa Frank Story, which comes from the producers of ID’s Quiet on Set.
Her move comes less than four months after a restructure within Amazon MGM Studios.
