EXCLUSIVE: Rick Selvage, CEO of onphaya and best known as a Wheel of Time exec producer, has signed up veteran celebrity photographer Norman Seeff to work on two onphaya TV projects.
The company has said the two projects will fall under the company’s unscripted A Journey to Make a Difference series. The shows will focus on the “power of music” and be centered around celebrity musical artists to “help heal, rehabilitate, and transform, offering audiences insight into some of the most challenging social issues of our time.” Norman will appear on camera.
“I am thrilled to collaborate with Rick and his onphaya team to help deliver to these projects the power and passion that I hold so dear,” said Seeff.

Seeff began his career as a graphic designer of album cover art at Columbia Records before becoming a popular rock photographer in the New York music scene. Seeff’s first photography book, Hot Shots, won the New York Directors Club Award for best photographic book of the year. His next collection Joni, documenting his 14 sessions with Joni Mitchell, was published in 2018, and the Collected Works of Norman Seeff is currently in development.
Peta Johnson of onphaya will executive produce the projects along with Selvage.
Selvage added: “This is just the beginning of our journey to make a difference. At onphaya, our goal is to create unscripted programs that not only make a difference but also entertain. Norman’s remarkable ability to unlock human stories will be a catalyst for achieving our unscripted creative objectives.”
The Norman Seeff collabs are the latest projects confirmed by onphaya. The company is also developing several feature film projects, including the Australian action-adventure Secrets of the Southern Cross, the drama Betrayed, a thriller directed by Harald Zwart (The Twelfth Man, The Karate Kid [2010]), the Australian/Italian feel-good Drama Arrivederci and the period piece Les Indépendants.
