If you told me that this is what Rihanna literally looks like when she steps out of the shower, I would believe you, honestly.
For the Fenty Hair launch in London on September 16, Rih-Rih wore a fluffy, butter yellow wrap dress from Jacquemus that looks suspiciously similar to a bathrobe, while also remaining chic AF. The loungewear-inspired ‘fit was perhaps a cheeky reference to how people would likely be dressed while using her new shampoos, conditioners, curl creams, heat protectors, and other haircare products. Why wear athleisure when you can wear literal leisure?
The “Umbrella” singer didn’t go so far as to pair the dressing gown-like dress with actual slippers. Instead, she kept the whole look glam by adding matching, butter yellow pointed toe heels and a diamond anklet. She wore her hair in a side-parted vintage glam style, and accessorized with diamond drop earrings and a couple of rings, opting to skip a necklace.
Rihanna’s fearless embrace of texture and volume in her outfits is nothing new, even if this particular ‘fit was a little more on-the-nose than usual. At an earlier Fenty Hair launch party in June, for example, she showed out in a head-to-toe red leather ensemble of a maxi pencil skirt and baggy bomber jacket.
On Instagram, Rihanna explained why she decided to add a line of hair products to her already successful Fenty beauty brand. “My hair has always been a huge part of my career and personal evolution, and @fentyhair was created to keep up with our hair and lifestyle—while constantly strengthening and repairing our hair with each use,” she wrote.
