EXCLUSIVE: Prime Video has unveiled plans for a trio of docs from German producer Beetz Brothers Film Productions.
Here in Berlin at the inaugural Seriesly Berlin event, a November 10 launch was set for German Cocaine Cowboy on Prime Video Germany. A second doc, Billions Mike (aka Milliarden Mike), will debut a week later (November) before Killy My Doppelgänger debuts in 2025.
Prime Video has licensed the three docs, which from Leonine Studios-owned Beetz Brothers Productions.
German Cocaine Cowboys, a four-part documentary series about rise of Hamburg gangster Joe Marx to the top of the notorious Cali cartel in the 1990s and his subsequent return to Germany after years off jail time, was teased last month and footage is being shown to delegates her in Berlin today.

The producers are Christian Beetz and Georg Tschurtschenthaler for Beetz Brothers, and the director is Peter Dörfler. Production is supported by German Motion Picture Fund and Medienboard Berlin-Brandenburg.
Billions Mike is billed as a “humorous and twist-filled psychological profile” of Peter ‘Mike’ Wappler, Germany’s most infamous and flamboyant con artist. The film follows his first year of freedom from prison and his preparation for his latest scam. Reinhardt Beetz is the producer and the executive producer is Nadine Neumann for Beetz Brothers Film Production. The director is Ina Kessebohm.
Kill My Doppelganger looks into one of the most mysterious true crime cases in recent times — the apparent death of young beauty blogger Shahraban, who was found dead in a car in a forest near Ingolstadt on August 16, 2022. However, the body actually belonged to another woman who resembles Shahraban and police assume she was specifically selected via Instagram and lured into the forest, where she was killed with more than 70 stab wounds.
Christian Beetz and Georg Tschurtschenthaler are the producers. The directors are Carsten Gutschmidt and Cordula Stadter.
The docs will sit next to German originals such as LOL: Last One Laughing, Maxton Hall – The World Between Us, Sebastian Fitzek’s The Therapy, The Griffon, Luden – Kings of the Reeperbahn and Joko Winterscheid Presents: The World’s Most Dangerous Show and U.S. series such as The Boys, The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power and Reacher.
Seriesly Berlin’s second and final day kicked off with a session featuring Christian Beetz, with Prime Video Country Director set to sit down with Deadline for an on-stage interview later this morning and Weeds writer Jenji Kohan also speaking. Check back in for further coverage.
