Jordan Klepper Revisits His ‘Fauci Fever’

Welcome to Late Night Roundup, a rundown of the previous night’s highlights that lets you sleep — and lets us get paid to watch comedy. Here are the 50 best movies on Netflix right now.

Dear Diary

Senator Rand Paul released more than 1,000 pages from Dr. Anthony S. Fauci’s Covid-era diary as part of a Senate investigation into the former top government scientist’s role in the pandemic response on Wednesday. The entries highlighted Fauci’s astonishment at his newfound fame in 2020.

On “The Daily Show,” Jordan Klepper was less than impressed by the so-called revelations.

“Again, he was famous — we know that,” Klepper said of the doctor’s fame. “A lot of us had ‘Fauci Fever.’”

“I literally saw Fauci more than I saw my parents. Mostly because they couldn’t figure out how to turn on the Zoom camera.” — JORDAN KLEPPER

“Are we supposed to be surprised that Fauci wrote about being called sexier than Tyra Banks? If someone called me sexier than Tyra Banks, I’d write that in my diary. You know what, I’d write about being called sexier than Carlton Banks. I might even write about being compared favorably to a Bank of America. I have very low self-esteem.” — JORDAN KLEPPER

“Honestly, this just sounds like an old man not realizing how unhinged Instagram comments can be.” — JORDAN KLEPPER

The Punchiest Punchlines (The Crass and Furious Edition)

“I read that President Trump has been furious about the Iran war, and he’s been shouting curse words at his top national security officials. Yeah, his staff was like, ‘Is now a bad time to tell you that there’s algae in the pool again?’” — JIMMY FALLON

“Yep, the last time Trump was this angry was when McDonald’s added salads to the menu.” — JIMMY FALLON

“But the White House downplayed the report. They said the president just gets cranky when he misses his all-day naps.” — JIMMY FALLON

“Yeah, officials remain divided over whether they should stop Iran’s nuclear program, protect ships in the Strait of Hormuz, or ask Dr. Strange to erase everyone’s memory.” — JIMMY FALLON
