Because what awards show is complete without at least one wardrobe change? Taylor Swift started the VMAs 2024 in a fresh-from-the-runway tartan gown by Christian Dior. But by the time the show hit the midway point, she’d changed into an asymmetrical mini dress, the better to dance to Katy Perry in.
If you look closely, you can see that the bedazzled dress depicts a pastoral scene in green on the skirt, with a UFO decorating the blue sky near the dress’s neckline. Buckle straps and a ruffle detail on one side of the skirt completed the look.

Swift didn’t make a total change to her outfit, however. It looks as though she kept the thigh-high black boots from her original look, but dropped the choker necklace.
Fans got a good look at the second dress during Perry’s medley of her greatest hits, when cameras panned to Swift in the audience, doing one of her patented enthusiastic awards show dances. No one has more fun at awards shows than Taylor Swift, and the VMAs in 2024 were no exception. And when you plan to have that much fun in the audience, you have to make sure your comfortable. So, kudos to Tay for that move.
