To paraphrase Madonna, Scooter Braun is in dire need of attention right now. The music manager-turned-entrepreneur is talking about Taylor Swift, apropos of absolutely nothing. Maybe he heard “thanK you aIMee” and decided he also wants to reflect on a feud?
The man who discovered Justin Bieber took to Instagram Stories on Tuesday, August 27 to post two brief statements related to Swift, with whom he has been on-off feuding ever since that whole masters debacle in 2019.
First, he posted that he had “finally” watched the HBO Max documentary about their issues, which came out in June. What he thought of it, he didn’t say.
Then, he shared a TMZ post about the party Swift is currently hosting at her Rhode Island mansion, a celeb-filled birthday bash for her friend Blake Lively. “How was I not invited to this!?!” he wrote, adding the curious hashtag, #laughalittle.
Hardly fighting words, but this is just weird. Think about it: he purchased her masters half a decade ago and has since sold them. They have no personal or professional relationship. In the fallout of their feud, he claimed, his then-wife and kids received death threats. Shouldn’t he just focus on running his business and not provoking her fans? She’s hosting her friends at her beach house—what does that have to do with Scooter Braun? Take it from Swift: sometimes silence is the safest move.

Maybe he wants people to watch the doc (I haven’t seen it, I don’t know if it makes him look good). It’s only fair that he gets to tell his side of the story, especially since he still gets mentioned in the occasional song. But if that’s the case, bro, the random cryptic posts are not the way to go. If you have something to share with the class, please speak up.
