NBC has pushed the season 2 premiere of The Irrational to Tuesday, October 8 from its original October 1 date due to the recently scheduled vice presidential debate between Governor Tim Walz (D-MN) and Sen. J.D. Vance (R-OH), hosted by CBS News.
The Season 2 premiere of the crime procedural will air at 10 p.m. on October 8, preceded by a two-hour edition of The Voice beginning at 8 p.m.
Written by Arika Lisanne Mittman, The Irrational, starring Jesse L. Martin, is based on Dan Ariely’s bestselling novel Predictably Irrational. It follows world-renowned professor of behavioral science Alec Mercer (Martin) as he lends his unique expertise to high-stakes cases and mysteries. His insight and unconventional approach to understanding human behavior lead him to work alongside varying clients ranging from the FBI to everyday people caught in perplexing situations desperate for answers. With the help of his trusted team and social-science experiments, Alec solves crimes and uncovers the truth to answer intriguing, and irrational, questions.
The cast also includes Maahra Hill, Travina Springer, Molly Kunz and Arash DeMaxi.
Arika Lisanne Mittman, Mark Goffman, Sam Baum, David Frankel and Robert Wolfe executive produce. The Irrational is produced by Universal Television, a division of Universal Studio Group.
