As the cast of Euphoria gears up to film the long-overdue Season 3, Colman Domingo has one thing on the mind.
The Academy Award nominee, who plays recovering drug addict Ali on the HBO series, said he’s “asking for my character to have sex” in the upcoming season, noting that he’s one of the few actors without a sex scene on the show.
“I would like to see – because I’m like, ‘These young kids are out there having all this kind of sex,’ and I’m like, ‘I think Ali needs to get some this season,’” Domingo said this week on SiriusXM’s Radio Andy. “I’d like to see what that is.”
His revelation came after host Andy Cohen asked, “Do you ever go to Glenn Garner Sam Levinson and be like, ‘Hey dude, let my character counsel Jacob Elordi a little bit. Let me get in there with him?’”
“You know, Andy, I think that’s the pitch that you and I can make. I think the world wants that,” said Domingo.
On the Emmy Award-winning series, Ali serves as a drug counselor and mentor for Zendaya‘s troubled young protagonist Rue. The show’s young ensemble cast also features Elordi, Sydney Sweeney, Hunter Schafer, Alexa Demie and Maude Apatow.
After extensive delays caused by the WGA/SAG-AFTRA strikes and the death of actor Angus Cloud, HBO announced last month that production is set to begin on Season 3 of the high school drama in January. All of the show’s principle cast, with the exception of Barbie Ferreira, is set to return for the upcoming season, which will feature a time jump.
Levinson told Elle that Season 3 will be a “film noir” in which Rue will “explore what it means to be an individual with principles in a corrupt world.”
