The Kanas City Chiefs will attempt to do something that no other team has ever done during the Super Bowl era: complete a three-peat. After taking down the San Francisco 49ers in the Super Bowl this past season, the Chiefs cemented themselves as a true dynasty in NFL history. But as they get set to embark on a quest for a potential three-peat, motivation can sometimes be a tough pill to find, especially during the long regular season.

The Chiefs still have stars Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce leading the way on offense, with head coach Andy Reid running the show from the sidelines. Kansas City will have a massive target on its back this season as every other NFL team will be looking to knock the Chiefs off.
Reid spoke about how the team stays motivated to continue winning, noting that peer pressure is one of the main ingredients that has the Chiefs looking ahead to long-term success.
“They go 100 miles an hour, and they make everybody around them go 100 miles an hour,” Reid said of his leadership group. “While the coaches are kicking them a little bit, the players are kicking them, and that peer pressure, there’s nothing like that.”
While the offense is the main show for fans, the Kansas City defense is what won the teamm the Super Bowl last season. Lost in all the highlights of Mahomes, the defense has continued to grow and improve each season. Linebacker Nick Bolton and defensive edge rusher Chris Jones lead the way for Kansas City in that department. They want to continue winning as well. Reid spoke about how they have shown leadership this offseason as the team gets ready for another grueling year.
“Yeah, they (Mahomes and Kelce) are great with it,” he responded, via the team’s official transcript. “That’s what I was saying before we had the (summer) break. I appreciate that leadership, Chris Jones, (Nick) Bolton, I mean these guys that have been around here, they do a nice job. When players start helping players out and helping them understand what’s going on, normally you have a pretty good thing going and these guys, we’re lucky to have that leadership.”
Until someone knocks off the Chiefs, they will be the favorites to win it all again. They have set the standard that every team is looking to surpass around the NFL and it just goes back to strong leadership from the top on down. Kansas City has a good chance to complete the three-peat, but it will likely be their toughest test to date during the Mahomes era.
