FarSight Studios today announced the launch of its new game, PPA Pickleball Tour, on Steam, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 4. The developer also plans to launch the game on Switch on July 26. This game, made in collaboration with the Professional Pickleball Association (PPA), is the first officially licensed pickleball title according to FarSight.
The game features a career mode with three different difficulty settings, as well as quickplay. Players can create their own avatars with customizable abilities and appearance. The game features sixteen professional players, including #1 ranked men’s player Ben Johns and #1 ranked women’s player Anna Leigh Waters, motion-captured to appear in the game. The game features multiple moves unique to pickleball, including dink battles and fire fights.
Bobby King, CEO of FarSight, told GamesBeat in an interview that the studio saw pickleball’s rise in popularity within the last few years. “We started hearing about the game and played it ourselves. We thought it was a really fun game that would make a great video game… They say it’s the fastest-growing sport in the country, and I believe them.” Regarding the appearance of professional players in the game, King said, “We’ve included different skills that the players have to match their skill levels. When you’re playing them in the game, it seems like you’re playing the real professional.”
In addition to the game’s launch, FarSight is taking the game on the road, where it will show it off at pickleball events around the country. The next event is the Selkirk Kansas City Open in Overland Park in Kansas on August 7-11. Parker Roberts, VP of revenue at the PPA, said in a statement, “The launch of PPA Pickleball Tour 2025 represents the latest step in the game’s explosive growth and will help bring the sport to millions of new players.”
