Andy Cohen acknowledges that The Real Housewives of New Jersey needs a shakeup and teases that changes are coming to the Bravo reality series.
As Season 14 of RHONJ wraps up, Cohen knows there’s a problem with the show and revealed that producers are working on something for Season 15.
The current cast doesn’t seemingly get along and has been unwilling to film together. Things are so bad among the cast that a cast trip was scrapped, and Bravo opted to cancel the traditional reunion that puts a cap on the season.
A fan of the show called into Cohen’s SiriusXM show Andy Cohen Live who suggested that a “rebrand” was needed for RHONJ, which the executive producer of the franchise agreed that it was time.
The fan noted the complete cast overhaul The Real Housewives of New York City had for Season 14, firing all the cast and hiring a whole new set of housewives. Furthermore, the viewer said that the show has a lot of “negativity” and said that new additions like Rachel Fuda and Danielle Cabral were “funny” and they brought a “fresh and young” vibe to the show.
“We’re gonna figure something out,” Cohen told the caller. “We are all on the same page about that.”
Although it is not entirely certain what will happen with RHONJ, star Teresa Giudice said she wasn’t leaving the show and would return if the network asked her to.
“No, I’m not leaving. I started the show, and when Bravo wants me to leave, that’s when I’ll leave,” she recently said in an interview on Live with Kelly & Mark, addressing rumors she was leaving.
The divide within the RHONJ cast occurred after Giudice had a fallout with her brother, Joe Gorga, and sister-in-law, Melissa Gorga. The feud between Giudice and the Gorgas have created two groups within the cast, making it complicated to film an ensemble show.
Melissa Gorga recently admitted Bravo needed to make changes to RHONJ as “things have gotten really toxic” on the show.
“There’s two of my cast members that have played really dirty behind the scenes and it’s coming out,” she told ET. “It’s all coming out, because it always rises to the top, it always comes out in the laundry. It’s been years, so it’s all coming forward.”
