Returning to work after being away for a while can be jarring — but we’ll make an exception for Severance season 2, which is finally set to return on January 17, 2025.
Of course, it won’t be quite as long for the characters we follow: While season 1’s agonizing cliffhanger left Mark (Adam Scott) and his friends in open defiance of Lumon Industries’ orders, the trailer shows them back in the office. Thanks to the help of the severance technology that disconnects their workdays from their home lives, their return to their desks might be just a blink since we last saw them, learning all that crazy shit about Mark’s wife and Hellie’s (Britt Lower) true identity.
That being said, their world has certainly changed — in fact, Apple TV Plus’ official synopsis says the group will “learn the dire consequences of trifling with the severance barrier, leading them further down a path of woe.”
Season 2 will be bringing back the core cast (in addition to Scott and Lower, that means Tramell Tillman, Zach Cherry, Jen Tullock, Michael Chernus, Dichen Lachman, John Turturro, Christopher Walken, and Patricia Arquette), alongside new series regular Sarah Bock. The second season will premiere its first episode on Apple TV Plus on January 17, with one episode per week until the finale on March 21, 2025.
