Two is a coincidence. Three is a trend. And we’ve now seen at least three A-listers wearing unexpected paisley patterns. Specifically, we are seeing the paisley pattern mostly associated with bandanas—which might just be the coolest way to incorporate the Country Western aesthetic into your wardrobe since cowboy boots.
For Bella Hadid, “cowgirl” isn’t so much an aesthetic as it is an identity. On July 8, she posted to Instagram photos of herself wearing a red paisley shirt while she, “ran a few barrels,” on her horse. Hadid’s collared button-down is a pretty straightforward way to wear the Western paisley pattern, but others have gotten more creative with the style.

Sydney Sweeney, another star with country bona fides, has embraced a more fashion-forward version of the trend. On July 7, the Anyone But You actor wore a brown paisley Miu Miu skirt in a series of mirror selfies posted to Instagram.
To match the ruffled mini, Sweeney appears to have tied an actual brown bandana around her body to make a matching top. “I don’t do mirror selfies often but when i do they are chaotic,” she captioned the post.

And we can’t talk about cowgirl-core without talking about Cowboy Carter herself, Beyoncé. In her June 26 Instagram posts, Bey wore the paisley pattern two ways. She wore a white silk bandana around her head as a scarf, but also carried a red Bottega Veneta illusion bag with a paisley pattern designed to look like a red bandana folded into a triangle.
Even Travis Kelce has gotten in on the bandana-print trend, wearing a black paisley shirt for his Good Morning America interview in June.
There’s no telling where the bandana paisley print will show up next.
