Here we go again.
Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-Texas) took several shots at Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) on Thursday, attacking her intelligence as she recounted a heated Capitol Hill hearing from last month.
âItâs just that Marjorie is a little slow,â the Texas Democrat told late-night host Jimmy Kimmel when asked about what sparked her infamous argument with Greene.
Crockett, 43, lashed out at the 50-year-old Georgia Republican during a House Oversight Committee hearing in May, suggesting that Greene had a âbleach blonde, bad-built, butch bodyâ after the congresswoman accused her Democratic colleague of wearing âfake eyelashes.â
The Texas Democrat told Kimmel that she was perturbed that the hearing on whether to move forward with a contempt resolution against Attorney General Merrick Garland had been scheduled for 11 a.m. but was delayed until 8 p.m. because some GOP members attended former President Donald Trumpâs Manhattan hush money trial.
She said she grew more agitated by Greeneâs comments about Manhattan Judge Juan Merchan, which she believed to be unrelated to the business of that evening.Â
âSo, now Iâm upset âcause itâs already late at night, [Iâve] been here all day, ready to work, yâall arenât here â and youâre still talking about that failed trial. So, I had to ask [Greene] if she understood, âcause sheâs not the brightest,â Crockett said.
The lawmaker revealed that as she waited for a âvery confusedâ Oversight Chairman James Comer (R-Ky.) to rule on whether to dismiss Greene from the hearing or force her to apologize she looked Greene âhead to toeâ and wrote down her now infamous shot at Georgia congresswomanâs looks.
When Kimmel asked about Greeneâs intelligence relative to other congressional lawmakers, Crockett responded, âIâd be hard-pressed to find someone dumber.â
âWe donât talk,â she said of her current relationship with Greene.
Greeneâs office did not respond to The Postâs request for comment.
