A medical event was reported at a campaign rally for former President Donald Trump in Las Vegas, Nevada, on Sunday as temperatures are expected to top 100 degrees.
Hours before Trump, the presumptive GOP presidential nominee, was expected to take the stage at his Sunset Park outdoor rally, a secret service agent ran toward the security line yelling, “Medic,” the Reno Gazette Journal, which is covering the event live, reported on Sunday.
The incident happened around 8:45 a.m. PST when it was 86 degrees out. It is only expected to get hotter as the event goes on with a forecast of just over 100 degrees. Trump began speaking to the crowd around noon PST.
Trump’s campaign took several precautions to combat the desert heat: thousands of bottles of water for attendees, tents and misting fans around the park and at least one tent with air conditioning. The campaign also said it would allow attendees to carry small umbrellas. There is also medical staff on park grounds.

On Thursday, 11 people with heat exhaustion were hospitalized after waiting in line for an indoor Trump rally in Phoeniz, Arizona. Temperatures reached 110 degrees on that day. According to local ABC affiliate KNXV-TV, several people fainted from the heat.
At Sunday’s rally, Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene, a Georgia Republican, took the stage ahead of Trump’s appearance.
“The Democrats and the fake news media want to constantly talk about ‘Oh, President Trump is a convicted felon.’” Well, you want to know something? The man that I worship is also a convicted felon and he was murdered on a Roman cross,” Greene said.
Trump was found guilty last month on 34 counts of falsifying business records related to hush money paid to adult-film actress Stormy Daniels shortly before the 2016 presidential election. Daniels alleges she had a sexual encounter with Trump in 2006, which he denies. The former president has maintained his innocence, claiming the case was politically motivated against him. His legal team intends to appeal the verdict.
Nevada Republican Party Chairman Michael McDonald followed Greene’s comments with more religious jargon, telling the crowd, “We are here today to worship this man.”
McDonald is one of six Republicans who pleaded not guilty to felony charges after allegedly submitting fake certificates to Congress declaring Trump the winner of the 2020 presidential election in Nevada. President Joe Biden won Nevada by 2.4 percent of the vote in 2020.
