Boxing legend Mike Tyson is recovering and “doing great” after falling ill on a flight Sunday and being met by first responders upon landing in Los Angeles.
The 57-year-old, who is currently training to face off against 27-year-old Jake Paul in the ring, “became nauseous and dizzy due to an ulcer flare up 30 minutes before landing,” Tyson’s publicist shared in a statement to the Associated Press.
“Thankfully Mr. Tyson is doing great,” the statement continued. “He is appreciative to the medical staff that were there to help him.”
The fight between Tyson, the former world heavyweight champion who officially retired in 2005, and Paul is set to take place in Arlington, Texas on July 20 and will be streamed live on Netflix. The event is the first of its kind for the streamer.
On Monday, Paul took to X (formerly Twitter) with a message that served as both trash talk and an implication that the fight was still on.
“You love to make shit up before knowing the facts for clicks / likes,” Paul wrote. “Nothing changed #PaulTyson”

In a press conference earlier this month, Tyson called Paul “fat and funky” and questioned his fighting ability.
“He never knocked out a real man, come on. He didn’t knock out Tommy Fury. I’m going to fuck Jake up.”
Representatives for Mike Tyson did not immediately respond to Vanity Fair’s request for comment.
