2024 marks the 20th anniversary of Nuctech’s presence in the European Union. Nuctech is a leading security equipment manufacturer of Chinese origin with a fully Europe-based supply chain. During the past 20 years, Europe has been an integral part of our corporate and business identity. We are proud to have been able to contribute to Europe’s economy and security along the way.
With a production site in Poland and an office in the Netherlands, Nuctech provides about 2,000 direct and indirect jobs for Europeans. Ninety percent of our members of staff at the manufacturing facility in Kobylka, Poland, is Polish, including highly-skilled professionals: Factory managers, commercial managers, health and safety managers, and engineers. Our office in the Netherlands includes 24 high-quality full-time jobs with focus on research and development, and contributes to Europe’s technology innovation.
Being a Europe-based employer also means providing tax revenues to the member countries in which we operate. Since 2004, Nuctech has invested over €35 million in the Polish economy and paid over €9 million in taxes to the Polish government and local authorities. In the Netherlands, our contribution was almost €1 million in taxes in 2023 alone.
Nuctech is a responsible investor in Europe: We are the biggest taxpayer and employer in the Polish Kobylka region, with investments in social, educational, sport, musical and cultural initiatives reaching almost €100,000.
Providing state-of-the-art security solutions is the core of our business and we are proud to see the real positive impact of our commitment to European safety. In 2023, with the help of Nuctech’s scanning equipment, the port of Antwerp seized an all-time record amount of cocaine — 116 tons. Our security scanners in the port of Rotterdam help to increase the number of cargo inspections and thus reduce the cocaine traffic the street value of which is worth staggering €3.5 billion.
Other examples of Nuctech’s contribution to European security include preventing illegal migration and cigarette smuggling, as well as ensuring security of luggage and passengers in airports — successful cases grow by the day.
Surely Nuctech cannot do this alone. Thanks to our production site in Poland, most of our equipment is produced and assembled in Europe with some components being supplied by Siemens, ABB, Volvo and other European companies.
Working with European distributors and innovators makes the supply chain shorter, ensures a rapid delivery of Nuctech equipment, and contributes to quality and efficiency of our equipment. Together with our European partners we make Europe safer for its citizens and businesses.
It is the trust of European partners that makes Nuctech business successful in Europe.
We do, however, notice an increased interest in Chinese companies that do business in Europe. The recent inspection of Nuctech offices by the European Commission came as a surprise as our 20-year presence in Europe has been driven by nothing but product excellence, compliance with EU laws and respect to partners with no technical accident ever reported by any of our clients.
Nuctech is cooperating with the European Commission and will spare no effort to defend its legitimate rights and reputation as a fully independent and self-supporting economic operator.
China is an undeniable key player in the global economy. So is the EU with the high-quality and safety standards it sets in many fields globally. Twenty years of Nuctech’s presence in the European security market is an example of international business-driven cooperation that knows no political or technological prejudice.
Nuctech is committed to continuing this course of action.
