Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie became pop culture icons during the early 2000s thanks to their glamorous social lives and their hit reality television show, The Simple Life. And it looks like they could be coming back for more.
TMZ reports that the stars will reunite for a new series that will not be in the same vein as The Simple Life, which saw the celebs traveling by Greyhound bus to try different internships along the East Coast. According to production sources, Hilton and Richie have been discussing new ideas for a television series “for months” and have finally settled on an idea that has already been sold to an unspecified streamer.
The new show, which will reportedly have a “hilarious” name, is still in early development. Filming has not yet begun on the project.
TMZ also reports that the show sparked an “all-out bidding war.” It appears that James Corden‘s production company Fulwell 73, which worked on Cinderella and Happy Together, managed to win the rights.
Both stars recently shared a collage of pictures from their youth, seemingly hinting at the reunion.
“From Day 1: Sill and Bill,” they both wrote in the caption, referencing the nicknames they had for each other on The Simple Life.
The show, which ran for five seasons across Fox and E!, aired between 2003 and 2007. The heiresses tried out a variety of jobs on the show, leading to some hilarious and iconic pop culture moments.
The show was briefly canceled by Fox after two seasons before E! later picked it up in 2007. According to reports at the time, the network felt that Hilton and Richie “no longer proved compatible.” Hilton also said that she was “excited” to focus on her “other business ventures” amid the cancellation.
But it looks like the ladies have since mended things and are looking forward to working together again.
Hilton currently stars in her own reality show on Peacock, Paris in Love.
