He cited a conversation he shared with Trump, when the President said, “My base is socially conservative and fiscally liberal. They are working-class people who need the government’s help.”
Scaramucci attributed Trump’s refusal to touch Social Security and Medicare to calculated political understanding rather than generosity. He characterized this assessment as a warning to fellow critics, arguing, underestimating Trump’s appeal explains repeated opposition losses.
Critics pushed back, suggesting Trump merely receives fed information and acts as a puppet for operatives.
