How to Watch the 2026 Tony Awards

The Tony Awards, which each year honor the best of Broadway, take place tonight. This is the 79th Tony Awards ceremony.

Here’s how to watch:

What time does the show start?

The televised portion of the ceremony starts at 8 p.m. Eastern (5 p.m. Pacific) at Radio City Music Hall in Manhattan. The broadcast is scheduled to last three hours.

Where can I watch?

The main event, with prizes for plays, musicals and performers, will be televised on CBS. It will also stream on Paramount+, but only Paramount+ Premium subscribers can watch live, via their local CBS affiliate; otherwise it can be streamed on demand starting the next day.

Who is hosting?

The broadcast ceremony will be hosted by the singer Pink. It will feature performances from seven musicals nominated for Tony Awards: the new musicals “The Lost Boys,” “Titaníque,” “Schmigadoon!” and “Two Strangers (Carry a Cake Across New York),” and the musical revivals “Cats: The Jellicle Ball,” “Ragtime” and “The Rocky Horror Show.” There will also be tributes to “Chicago” and “A Chorus Line” (both of which first opened on Broadway in 1975), as well as “The Book of Mormon” (which is celebrating its 15th anniversary) and a song from “Rent” (which recently turned 30) during the in memoriam segment.

Aren’t some of the awards given out off air?

Yes. There is a preshow ceremony, starting at 6:35 p.m. Eastern, at which many of the awards for creative teams will be handed out. That event will be hosted by Laura Benanti and Tituss Burgess, and can be streamed free on Pluto TV (click on the “Live Music” channel in the “Entertainment” category).

What’s eligible?

The 19 plays and 11 musicals that opened on Broadway between April 28, 2025, and April 26, 2026, are eligible for awards this year. Prizes will be granted in 26 competitive categories. The most-nominated shows are the musicals “Schmigadoon!” and “The Lost Boys,” with 12 nominations each.
