Trump biographer Michael Wolff predicted Tuesday that Donald Trump’s presidency could end abruptly and without warning, citing Trump’s “sense of the dramatic” and desire for historical significance.
Speaking on the podcast “Inside Trump’s Head” with Daily Beast chief content officer Joanna Coles, Wolff said, “There’s a very good chance that it just ends all of a sudden,” adding, “No warning, no preparation. He falls.”
The comments followed Trump’s semi-annual physical at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, which Trump claimed showed perfect health despite skepticism from medical experts. Wolff argued, second-term presidents commonly experience psychological strain from facing their mortality and political powerlessness. He also characterized the upcoming midterms as potentially catastrophic for Trump.
Wolff suggested that an abrupt presidential end would provide Trump the historical significance he craves, saying, “This would give him his place in history.”
