Kylie Jenner feared the “Met Gala curse” would strike her relationship with Timothée Chalamet.
A source exclusively told Page Six that the reality star, 28, has “intentionally avoided” attending the Met Gala with the actor, 30, over concerns the infamous superstition could jinx their romance.
“Kylie and Timothée intentionally avoided attending the Met Gala together these past few years because they didn’t want to risk the whole ‘Met Gala curse’ thing,” the insider said.

“Kylie was especially superstitious about it after going to the Met with Travis [Scott] in 2018 and 2019 before they eventually split,” the source explained.
Jenner and Scott, 35, first started dating in 2017. They welcomed daughter Stormi in early 2018 and added son Aire to their brood in February 2022. The couple split for good in January 2023.
Jenner’s sister Kim Kardashian and Pete Davidson broke up in August 2022, just three months after making headlines as they hit the iconic stairs at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

Jenner — who first sparked dating rumors with Chalamet in April 2023 — “just didn’t want that kind of bad luck attached to their relationship and wasn’t willing to take any chances,” the source said.
Reps for Jenner and Chalamet did not immediately respond to Page Six’s requests for comment.
Chalamet skipped the Met Gala 2026 last week and let his girlfriend attend fashion’s biggest night solo.
Instead, the actor watched the New York Knicks vs. Philadelphia 76ers game at Madison Square Garden. Chalamet, who is a longtime Knicks fan, posted an Instagram Story showcasing his courtside view.

The Knicks also posted footage of Chalamet at the game, giving a hug to fellow Knicks fan Tracy Morgan.
Meanwhile, Jenner wowed at the Met Gala in a jaw-dropping Schiaparelli gown. Her bejeweled look was covered in pearls in a highly embellished train — with the front falling down to reveal a nude illusion corset with faux nipples, belly button and body contours.
Jenner and her family members aren’t the only celebrities who have fallen victim to the so-called “Met Gala curse,” however.

Katie Holmes and Jamie Foxx — who had been together since 2013 — split in late May 2019, a few weeks after showcasing their romance on the Met Gala red carpet.
Similarly, Amanda Seyfried and Justin Long had been dating for two years when they made their Met Gala debut in May 2015, but called it quits just four months later.
As for Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth, they attended the Met Gala together just once during their 10-year relationship — in May 2019, six months after getting married. They announced their separation in August of that same year.
