“Morning Joe” co-host Jonathan Lemire had the entire panel laughing on Thursday morning as he read from a report from the New York Post on Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. reportedly pulling the car over so he could cut off the genitalia of a dead raccoon.
That eventually led MS NOW host Mika Brzezinski to blurt out, “What is wrong with him? There is something seriously wrong with him.”
Lemire pitched the story with, “You thought that the dumping of the body of a bear in Central Park would be the most bizarre story linking Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and a dead mammal, because let’s also remember. Let’s also remember, of course, he has a worm in his brain.”
Holding up a copy of the Post, he read, “Robert F. Kennedy Jr., an avid animal genitalia researcher in his spare time, once pulled the family sedan to the side of the road after spying a dead raccoon and swiftly cut off its sex organs so he could ‘study them later.’”
That immediately set off laughter off-camera, with an aghast Brzezinski exclaiming, “How did he cut it off? Like with what?”
A laughing Mike Barnicle contributed, “How do you find it?”
“Let’s remember the time that he also found the whale carcass and used a chainsaw to cut off the whale’s head,” Lemire continued before adding sarcastically, “I mean, this is, first of all, again, tremendous reporting here by The New York Post. This is what we need.”
As the panel continued to laugh, regular contributor Donny Deutsch added, “You know what’s amazing about Morning Joe? You can watch it for 20 years, yet there’s always something new Joe saying, chopping off the p—- of a raccoon. This is why you turn into Morning Joe. The unexpected journalist becomes the norm. Yeah, maybe a regular segment.”
