Police in the Philippines have reportedly given an apology to Thomas Markle Jr. after he was named as a person of interest in dad Thomas Markle Sr.’s child porn case.
“The matter has been cleared up, officers were very apologetic,” a source close to the case told the Sunin a new report published Saturday.
The outlet reported that Philippines police have interviewed his fiancée, Rose Ann Gabuya, as well as others in their circle who have “resolved the matter.”
Page Six reached out to Philippine National Police for comment.

The report comes just one day after Meghan Markle’s estranged father, Thomas Sr., was arrested Friday in Florida on child porn charges.
He was released on bondand ordered to have no contact with minors. Thomas Markle Sr. was released back to the dementia care facility where he has been living.
The former cinematographer denied the allegations last month.

The Sun’s report comes after a Thursday press conference, where Philippine Interior Secretary Jonvic Remulla confirmed that authorities had received information from a witness alleging that underage girls had been brought to a residence connected to the investigation.
“We have a witness [who says] underage girls were being brought to his house. We will investigate whether the son was involved in the crime,” Remulla said, per News5 Philippines.
At the time, officials emphasized that Thomas Jr. was not currently considered as a suspect.
Thomas Sr. was arrested after FBI agents searched two storage units “registered to Markle within the Central District of California,” according to the criminal complaint filed by special agent Laura Carter on Friday.

In searches conducted on Oct. 30 and Nov. 4, FBI agents found material suspected of containing child sexual abuse imagery.
The complaint, which was obtained by Page Six, alleges that Thomas Sr. appears in two images alongside an underage girl.
In late October, the Sun first reported that Thomas Sr., who previously lived in the Philippines, was under investigationby the Cebu City Police Office after child sexual abuse materials were allegedly discovered in his home and turned in by his son, Thomas Jr.
Reporters from the Daily Mail also allegedly discoveredchild pornography in a storage unit near Thomas Sr.’s home in Mexico and subsequently called the FBI.

The Daily Mail discovered the alleged materials after gaining access to the unit, after Thomas Sr. had not paid rent for over two years.
Meghan previously reacted to the allegations against her father in the Philippines in a statement to Page Six, calling the claims “troubling and disturbing.”
“I hope it can now be understood that, despite certain media publications’ distortion over the years, any distance from my father and my choice to not allow him to have contact with our children was for one reason: to protect them,” the mother of two continued. “I trusted that the authorities were doing the same for other families.”
A rep for Meghan and her husband, Prince Harry, told Page Six Friday that the couple had “no comment” on Thomas Sr.’s arrest by the FBI.
