Erik von Detten’s former employer is $60M in debt as child star battles elder abuse, fraud allegations

The company Erik von Detten formerly worked for is $60 million in debt as the child star faces elder abuse and fraud allegations.

Rosland Capital, the metal management firm the “Princess Diaries” actor worked at for years, filed for bankruptcy in July.

The company, which sells precious metals to retail customers, claimed in new docs obtained by TMZ that it owes creditors over $60 million.

As Page Six previously reported, an elderly couple — Norman Greenberg, 97, and Sheila Greenberg, 85 — filed a lawsuit against von Detten, 44, and Rosland Capital.

The Greenbergs claimed in the suit that the company tries to exploit elderly citizens’ financial fears by selling them on gold’s stability.

The pair alleged in the filing that they suffered $900,000 in damages after working with the “Brink!” actor and the company when they used their retirement to purchase gold.

Von Detten allegedly told Norman and Sheila via phone calls that he had special knowledge of gold and could help them with the $2 million in their retirement accounts.

The pair said they spent close to $1 million on two Lady Liberty gold coins — then von Detten spent another $1 million of theirs on more coins, all of which were allegedly stored in a warehouse.

The Greenbergs claimed in the lawsuit that they spent around $2.1 million on coins allegedly worth $1.3 million.

They want to recoup their losses and receive additional punitive damages.

Von Detten’s rep did not respond to Page Six’s request for comment on the lawsuit.

The “National Lampoon’s Barely Legal” star began working with Rosland Capital in 2018.
