R&B legend Stevie Wonder is suing to evict his ex-fiancée from his Studio City home she’s been living in rent-free for nearly four decades.
The Motown icon filed a lawsuit against former flame Carmen Efferson in Los Angeles Superior Court on Thursday, after she cursed out his legal representatives and refused access to the home for a property tax inspection, the complaint says.

Efferson allegedly refused to vacate the home on Oak Glen Drive when the singer’s legal reps tried to get her out of his home, which she has been living in since July 1988 per an oral agreement, according to the suit. Wonder has been married to Tomeeka Bracy since 2017.
The three-bedroom, four-bathroom property is valued at nearly $1.8 million, according to Zillow.
The drama began when Efferson received a mailed notice about the property tax inspection and responded with a profanity-laced email to Wonder’s legal team, the suit alleges.

“Please refrain from your rascist [sic] coldblooded ‘white male privilege’ tone (again with you). I am feeling harassed,” she wrote in the July 25 not, according to the suit.
“Regarding your ORDERS of entering into the place where I am living, I do not consent. Do not make any attempt to make any kind of contact with me. You or any of the ‘We’ you are referring to. In other words F–K the F–K OFF..!!!”
Wonder’s legal rep, David Huff, informed Efferson that the letter was written by his law partner — “who is neither racist, coldblooded, white nor male” — while noting that the eviction proceedings would continue.

“Should we not hear from you that you consent to entry by the third-party insurance inspector by tomorrow, that license will terminate and you will be evicted,” Huff added, according to the suit. “The choice is yours.”
When Efferson allegedly threatened to contact the police after further correspondence, Wonder’s legal team proceeded with the eviction, setting a late August deadline. She refused to leave, the suit claims, and the musician’s legal the team issued a three-day notice on Oct. 6 for her to vacate for allegedly violating the oral agreement.

Wonder’s legal team claimed it gave her several more opportunities for inspectors to come into the home, but she declined.
Wonder’s lawyer are seeking to remove Efferson and have her pay $600, the amount he was penalized for the lapsed property insurance renewal.
The 76-year-old musician, who has lived in several homes in the LA area, is currently on his Songs in the Key of Life Performances – 50th Anniversary Tour.
