Drunken NY nutjob mows down woman who slapped his car after minor NJ fender-bender: prosecutors

A drunken New York nutjob mowed down a woman in New Jersey after she slapped his car during a minor fender-bender, prosecutors said.

Estuardo G. Rodriguez, 31, and Krisiann Reyes Rivera, 31, got into a minor accident on Route 17 in Paramus around 5 p.m. Monday, according to the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office.

After the scrape, Rivera got out of her car and approached Rodriguez’s 2024 Acura, which had a U-Haul trailer in tow — and banged on one of the vehicle’s windows, authorities said.

Green overhead highway signs indicate directions for Route 17 North toward Mahwah, the Garden State Parkway South toward Ikea Drive, and Route 4 West toward Paterson, above heavy traffic.

Witnesses who saw the fatal ramming unfold chased after Rodriguez’s vehicle as he tried to speed away, police said.

The good Samaritans blocked his car in traffic a half-mile from the scene, then flagged down local cops, who took the maniac into custody.

Rivera, a Bronx resident, was taken to Hackensack University Medical Center, where she died, according to authorities.

Investigators discovered that Rodriguez had been drinking while he was driving and had a suspended license, prosecutors said.

He was hit with auto death charges, according to Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella, and booked into Bergen County Jail.

Attorney information for Rodriguez, who is expected to appear to Bergen County Superior Court, was not immediately available.
