A GOP strategist was flattened for his attempt to defend Vice President JD Vance during a fiery CNN panel Sunday.
Brad Todd, a veteran political operative, argued during a CNN panel that Vance was right to cast blame on the Biden administration for the economic mess that currently exists under the Trump administration. Todd argued that there are some “intractable problems’ that the administration is currently facing, and tried to point back to Biden as the source of those frustrations.
Todd’s comments sparked an uproar on set, with New York Times journalist Lulu Garcia-Navarro interjecting, “That’s not honest!”
“I struggle a lot with this idea that if only they could get the message right, or if only there was the right messenger. The fact is that the policies have caused an enormous problem in this country with the economy, and we know that regular people look to the top and say, ‘That’s on you, buddy.’ And that’s what’s happening now,” she said.
GOP strategist Scott Jennings chimed in that Garcia-Navarro’s argument could also be applied to why the Democrats lost the previous election, a claim that she did not deny. The difference, according to Garcia-Navarro, is that the Trump administration is trying to pin the blame on someone else.
