GOP leader in Greece levels jaw-dropping claims against ousted Trump ambassador

Kimberly Guilfoyle is facing a new round of unproven allegations from a critic, this time involving claims of secret payments, Iranian oil smugglers and drug use around the former Trump ambassador’s time in Greece.

Jonathan Constantine, chairman of the Hellenic chapter of Republicans Overseas, made the allegations in an interview with Trump donor Eric Deters, who had promised new revelations about Guilfoyle following her abrupt departure. Deters opened the segment by calling Guilfoyle “the most obnoxious, wicked, evil, manipulative, pushy” person he had ever known.

Constantine claimed that companies paying a lobbyist close to Guilfoyle were effectively funneling money to her, including one he said was owned by Greek shipping businessmen helping Iran evade U.S. sanctions. He alleged its payments totaled “one and a half to $2 million,” far more than the roughly $400,000 he said was publicly disclosed.

But his most serious accusation involved the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps, the powerful military organization that the U.S. has designated a terrorist group.

“We have this crazy situation that an American ambassador, at the time that our young men and young women, our servicemen, are fighting and dying in Iran, we have an ambassador who’s promoting IRGC interests for cash,” Constantine alleged.

Constantine said his group had compiled thousands of pages of documentation, but he did not make it public, and no published reporting has tied Guilfoyle to sanctions-evading shipping firms. Previous reporting by The Wall Street Journal focused on her promotion of Aktor Group, a Greek construction and energy company.

Asked by Deters about Guilfoyle’s alleged drug use, Constantine said in a separate exchange that his group had received complaints from embassy employees about cocaine use by people in Guilfoyle’s circle. He did not provide evidence for that claim, or that Guilfoyle personally used the drug.

The allegations came as Deters escalated his own feud with Guilfoyle and promised to release a recording. Deters has faced his own scrutiny, with right-wing CNN commentator Scott Jennings suggesting that Deters’ pressure campaign on the White House amounted to extortion, a characterization Deters rejects.

Guilfoyle has called previous allegations against her “false” and disputed the authenticity of messages at the center of her removal. She did not appear to have publicly responded to Constantine’s claims.
