A far-right agitator who claims he fed federal investigators information on left-wing activists landed in jail on a Colorado hate crime warrant after two traffic stops.
Bay City, Michigan, police pulled over Jayden Scott, 23, for erratic driving early Monday, MLive reported. Officers cited him for driving without a valid license and left, expecting a licensed driver to pick up the rental car.
One minute after officers left, they saw Scott driving the car again, according to police reports MLive cited. They pulled him over a second time, wrote another citation, and arrested him.
Police then learned that Scott was wanted in Arapahoe County, Colorado, on charges of aggravated menacing and bias-motivated harassment, MLive reported. Colorado defines a bias-motivated crime as one driven “in whole or in part” by bias against traits such as race, ancestry, religion or national origin.
According to an Aurora police affidavit cited by MLive, Scott walked into a gas station on July 2 and questioned the 26-year-old clerk about where he was from and why he came to the United States.
The clerk’s cellphone video allegedly shows Scott calling him an “H-1B chain migrant invader who’s come here to steal money from Americans and subvert our society,” the affidavit states. Outside, the clerk told police, Scott said he had a firearm and reached toward a handgun on his hip.
Scott’s passenger during the Bay City stops was far-right provocateur Jake Lang, a Jan. 6 rioter who was pardoned by President Donald Trump, MLive reported.
In January, during a federal immigration crackdown in Minneapolis, Scott was filmed shouting “we executed one of you yesterday” at protesters. An Immigration and Customs Enforcement officer had shot and killed Renee Nicole Good in the city the day before.
On Jan. 28, Scott posted a video from outside the apartment door of independent journalist Andrew Mercado, whom he accused of exposing an immigration officer’s personal details, Talking Points Memo reported.
The next day, left-wing activist Kyle Wagner, who called himself “Antifa Kyle” online, allegedly posted the phone number, birth month and year, and Oak Park, Michigan, address of a “pro-ICE individual,” according to a Justice Department release. TPM identified that person as Scott.
Federal prosecutors charged Wagner in February with cyberstalking and making threats, mostly over alleged threats against ICE agents, the release states.
“We had ABSOLUTELY nothing to do with this,” Scott wrote online after Wagner’s arrest, adding a winking emoji, TPM reported.
In June, Wagner was named among 15 defendants in a Minnesota conspiracy case that the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Minnesota said is part of Trump’s National Security Presidential Memorandum 7 initiative.
Miles Taylor, a former chief of staff at the Department of Homeland Security, called that Trump directive on domestic terrorism “Orwellian beyond belief” when it was issued last year.
Wagner’s alleged doxxing of Scott is part of the federal antifa prosecutions, and Scott claims he also handed hacked material to Homeland Security investigators, according to TPM.
“[W]hen my team got into their Telegram groups, when we broke into their vibe-coded websites and got their emails, we sent it to Homeland Security Investigations to go ahead and get these people arrested,” Scott told the Minneapolis Star Tribune.
TPM reported that it is unclear whether anything Scott provided made it into the Wagner case.
Scott is being held without bond in the Bay County Jail, MLive reported. Bay County District Judge Mark E. Janer will review his extradition on Oct. 30.
