Crystal Hefner begged Jessica Biel to “reconsider” her role as Hugh Hefner’s wife in the forthcoming “Playmates” film.
“Please reconsider playing Hugh Hefner’s ‘wife’ if this film is to romanticize him or the Playboy world,” the “Girl Next Door” alum, who was wed to the Playboy head honcho from 2012 to 2017, wrote in an Instagram direct messageto Biel.
“I was actually his wife, and I experienced sexual, emotional, financial and physical abuse in that relationship,” she alleged.

“Many other women have come forward with allegations of rape, coercion, drugging and exploitation as well,” Crystal, 40, continued.
“There are also deeply troubling concerns involving minors. I hope everyone involved in this film takes the time to listen to the women who lived it before helping Hollywood turn it back into nostalgia.”
Crystal recently shed light on her marriagewith Hugh, saying on the “No One Asked Her” podcast in August how she was “absolutely brainwashed” and under the supervision of 70 employees while at the Playboy Mansion.
“So I just thought I was the crazy one because all of the media put Hef on such a pedestal that I’m like, ‘OK, if they all see him as this larger-than-life amazing human, there must be something wrong with me,’” she told host Firerose.
In her 2024 memoir “Only Say Good Things: Surviving Playboy and Finding Myself,” Crystal alleged Hugh attempted to control her by telling her to lose weight and what to wear.

On Tuesday, it was announced that Biel, 44, would be stepping into the role of Hugh’s wife in the upcoming Lorraine Nicholson-directed film.
Biel’s character will be fictional despite Hugh having been married three times before his 2017 death.
Aside from Crystal, Hugh was previously married to Millie Williams from 1949 to 1959, and Kimberley Conrad from 1989 to 2010.

The “Sinner” star, who is wed to Justin Timberlake, will be starring opposite actor Bill Pullman as Hugh, though the movie’s storyline isn’t a biopic or centered around the latter.
The movie follows actress Indiana Elle as Elle and Lily-Rose Depp as Anna, two playmates at the Playboy Mansion.
Hugh released Playboy’s first issue in 1953, featuring Marilyn Monroe. He quickly found success and hosted the show “Playboy’s Penthouse” in the late 1950s.

The original Playboy mansion was purchased in 1959 in Chicago, but Hugh later moved to Los Angeles and acquired another property in the 1970s.
Hugh continued his success throughout the years, and in 2005 kicked off the E! reality series “Girls Next Door,” which ran for six seasons until 2010.
The businessman died on Sept. 27, 2017, from cardiac arrest and respiratory failure at the age of 91.
