Gypsy Rose Blanchard called fiancé Ken Urker her “forever” — and opened up about their couples therapy journey — one year before his tragic death.
In March 2025, the “Life After Lockup” star confirmed to People that she “absolutely” saw her relationship with Urker standing the test of time.
“I’ve always felt that way about him,” the 35-year-old gushed.

She went on to tell the outlet that they were working to “improve” their relationship by getting an “unbiased opinion” on their dynamic from a therapist.
“You don’t want to go to your family all the time to talk about the bad stuff,” Blanchard explained. “You don’t want their opinions to be changed or affected or a bias or anything.
“It’s nice for us to have someone in the middle,” she continued at the time. “They can see my side, they can see his side and give us an honest opinion.”

The couple, notably, began communicating in 2017 when Blanchard was behind bars after being convicted of second-degree murder for her role in the 2015 killing of her mom, Clauddine “Dee Dee” Blanchard.
Urker, who reached out to Gypsy Rose after watching “Mommy Dead and Dearest” about the abuse she suffered, proposed during a 2018 prison visit.
The duo called it quits the following year.
Blanchard wed Ryan Scott Anderson in July 2022, only to reconcile with Urker after their 2024 divorce.

In December 2024, the pair welcomed their now-1-year-old daughter, Aurora, after an “unexpected” pregnancy.
Blanchard told People in 2025 that round two of their relationship was a chance to know Urker on a “whole broader spectrum.”
She shared, “When we first met, we were both young. We were in our mid-20s, so we grew up. Learning each other is almost like dating a new partner, but then it’s the old partner too.”
Urker was found unresponsive in his bed at his Raceland, Louisiana, home by a family member on Thursday after not responding to Blanchard’s “happy birthday” text.

The reality star mourned her “forever soulmate” in a statement to People, writing, “I’m in disbelief. I can’t think. I’ve screamed until my throat burns.”
She claimed that Urker died of an overdose but noted, “I don’t know if it was intentional or not. He was not in a good state of mind lately.”
Blanchard also said her partner was the victim of “relentless” cyberbullying and urged people to remember “there is a real person behind every screen, every headline, and every comment.”
