Scorpio, October 2026: Your Monthly Horoscope

You’ve spent months with Pluto retrograde, which means the usual Scorpio instinct to watch, assess, and keep a few cards close to your chest has had an internal target. Whatever you’ve been reconsidering since spring probably hasn’t been small. Pluto doesn’t have much interest in cosmetic changes. It digs around in power, attachment, control, and the things we keep doing long after we know why we started. October is where some of that internal work begins moving outward again. Your ruling planet stations direct on the 16th, but before it gets there, the first week makes sure you have a few things left to think about.

Mercury squares Pluto retrograde on October 2. Mercury governs communication and thought, while a square puts pressure between the two planets involved. For Scorpio, that can make an ordinary conversation feel like there’s something else happening underneath it. Sometimes there is. You’re perceptive enough to notice when somebody’s words and behavior aren’t lining up. The trouble starts when you decide you know exactly why.

You don’t have to solve every person you encounter this month. Someone can be distracted without secretly resenting you. Somebody can hesitate because they’re thinking, not because they’re constructing an elaborate lie. Your instincts are worth listening to, but give people a chance to explain themselves before you finish the explanation on their behalf. Scorpio can sit through an uncomfortable silence longer than almost anyone. Use that talent. You’d be surprised what people tell you when you don’t rush in to fill the space.

Mars opposes Pluto on October 3, and this is harder to shrug off. Mars governs action, desire, anger, and raw drive. Pluto deals with power and control. Put them across from each other and suddenly an issue that should be manageable can become a contest over who gets to decide what happens next.

That’s familiar territory for you, but familiar doesn’t mean healthy. You know how to wait someone out. You also know exactly where to press when you want a reaction, even if you’re usually disciplined enough not to do it. Around the 3rd, ask yourself what you’re trying to accomplish before you get involved in a battle of wills. If you want honesty, create enough room for honesty. If you want cooperation, don’t make surrender the price of admission.

The first week could expose where you’ve been trying to maintain control because uncertainty feels worse. That distinction matters. There are things you can influence and things you can’t, and Scorpio occasionally responds to the second category by observing it harder, thinking about it longer, and convincing itself this somehow counts as control. It doesn’t. It just means the situation gets free rent in your head.

Pluto stations direct on October 16 after months of retrograde motion. The change itself probably won’t come with trumpets. Outer planets move slowly, and their stations tend to work through longer stretches of time. Still, there’s a meaningful difference between months of internal review and the point when that energy starts facing forward again.

Something you’ve been reconsidering could feel less theoretical now. Maybe you’ve known for months that a relationship has changed but haven’t decided what to do with that information. Maybe your relationship with work, money, family, or your own ambition has been evolving while you kept functioning normally on the outside. Pluto direct doesn’t require a giant declaration. It does make continued denial harder to justify.

Venus squares Pluto on October 20, putting relationships, attraction, self-worth, and money into direct contact with whatever your ruling planet has been working on. Venus is retrograde at the time, so there’s history involved here too. An old attachment could become relevant again. A familiar insecurity might reappear. You could notice that something you thought you wanted doesn’t have quite the same hold on you anymore.

For Scorpio, Venus-Pluto aspects can get intense because you don’t do emotional investment casually once you’ve actually decided to care. You can take a long time getting there, but once someone or something gets through the door, removing them isn’t exactly an administrative process. October 20 asks you to look at attachment without romanticizing endurance. Staying connected to something for a long time doesn’t automatically make the connection good for you.

The Sun enters Scorpio on October 23, and there’s a noticeable sense of returning to your own territory. Scorpio season brings the collective conversation closer to subjects you already understand: intimacy, privacy, trust, fear, desire, and all the uncomfortable human material people spend the rest of the year dressing up in nicer language.

You don’t need to become more intense just because the Sun entered your sign. If anything, October’s earlier Pluto contacts have probably given you enough material already. Let your season make you more comfortable with what you know about yourself, especially the parts you usually reserve for people who’ve passed several rounds of security clearance.

Then the Full Moon arrives in Taurus on October 26, directly across the zodiac from Scorpio. Taurus wants security, consistency, comfort, and something tangible it can trust. Scorpio wants emotional truth even when finding it requires opening a door everyone else agreed to leave shut. A Full Moon across this axis can bring the question of security versus emotional depth into clearer view.

The Sun squares Pluto the same day, so your ruling planet is involved again. Something about control could become difficult to ignore. Maybe you’ve been holding onto a situation because losing it would mean admitting it changed. Maybe you’ve kept your feelings contained because telling someone gives them information they could potentially use against you. Scorpio understands emotional leverage better than most signs, but intimacy eventually requires giving somebody information you cannot retrieve.

That doesn’t mean unloading everything you feel on the nearest person and calling it growth. It means noticing where privacy has become protection from being known at all.

The Full Moon in Taurus can help by bringing things back to basics. Who makes you feel safe enough to stop scanning the room? What relationships allow you to relax instead of constantly measuring the exchange? What are you holding onto because it’s stable, and what are you holding onto because admitting you’ve outgrown it would hurt?

October has your ruling planet under pressure, then turning direct, then immediately getting pulled into Venus and the Sun. For Scorpio, that makes this less a month for collecting information and more a month for deciding what the information you already have actually means. You’ve had months to watch. You’ve had months to think.

At some point, knowing has to become something you live by.

Thus concludes your monthly highlights. For more specific celestial analyses, make sure to read your daily and weekly horoscope as well. Good luck, Scorpio! See you next month.
