Prominent Christian authors who wrote about forgiveness face child abuse charges

A prominent North Texas Christian couple who made a career writing books about faith and forgiveness are facing child abuse charges stemming from disturbing physical and sexual assault allegations.

Seth Michael Day and Heather Thompson Day, both 39, were hit with charges on Friday after an alert high school teacher contacted police about accusations brought forward by a minor, authorities told Fox 4 DFW.

The minor accused Seth of whacking her in the face and chest with her cell phone.

Officers with the Keene Police Department spotted visible cuts and bruises on the young victim.

Heather — who works as a podcast host and an author — allegedly watched the brutality unfold and stood by doing nothing, according to the report.

She allegedly ordered the child to wear a face mask to cover the injuries and lie to doctors by claiming she had no idea how they happened.

Seth, a psychology professor at Southwestern Adentist University, was also hit with a felony charge of sexual assault of a child after further investigation. He’s been placed on administrative leave.

The couple resides in Keene, a major hub for the Seventh-day Adventist community of which Seth and Heather are prominent members, according to the Texas State Historical Association.

The pair ironically co-authored the relationship book “I’ll See You Tomorrow,” which preaches biblical forgiveness and rails against walking away from troubled relationships.

“In a culture where people easily and hastily cancel relationships rather than cultivate them, discover what the Bible has to say about how we need to keep showing up for one another — even when we feel like walking away,” reads the book’s Amazon description.

“‘In I’ll See You Tomorrow,’ communication professor Dr. Heather Thompson Day and Seth Day tackle difficulties that people face in relationships and help them navigate through relational disappointment, conflict, and fear,” the description continued.

“The dangers of a relational cancel culture are a timely one.”

The Keene Police Department and Southwestern Adventist University did not immediately respond to The Post’s request for comment.
