Leo, October 2026: Your Monthly Horoscope

October starts with the Sun in Libra, which puts your ruling planet in a more relational mood than Leo usually prefers. You know what you want pretty quickly. Libra wants to know how everybody else feels about it first. That can get tiring, especially if you’ve spent the last few weeks trying to get your own energy back under you. Still, there’s something to be said for spending the first part of the month noticing where you’ve been overcompensating, overexplaining, or trying too hard to make a situation work because walking away would bruise your pride.

Mars is in Leo all month, so your confidence and drive are very much alive underneath all this. You’re not lacking energy. If anything, the problem is figuring out where it should go. Some goals deserve your full attention. Some disagreements are just distractions in nicer clothes.

The Sun opposes Saturn retrograde on October 4, and this can feel like a wall where you expected a door. Saturn deals with responsibility, limits, obligations, and the parts of life that refuse to be charmed into cooperating. An opposition brings that directly across from your ruling planet.

You could run into a commitment that’s heavier than you expected or realize you’ve said yes to too many things because disappointing people felt worse than overloading yourself. Leo likes being dependable, especially when people notice. The trouble comes when being impressive starts costing you too much behind the scenes. If your schedule is packed, your patience is gone, and you’re still telling everyone you’ve got it handled, this is probably where the math stops working.

That doesn’t mean dropping everything. It means getting honest about capacity. You don’t need to prove you can carry more than everyone else simply because you technically can.

The Sun sextiles Jupiter on October 15, and the mood opens back up. Jupiter brings optimism, confidence, growth, and a willingness to think beyond the immediate problem. A sextile gives the Sun room to work with that energy, which can help you remember what you’re aiming for after the Saturn opposition spent a week reminding you of everything that needs maintaining.

This is a good point in the month to revisit a bigger goal. Maybe there’s something you’ve been afraid to ask for because you didn’t want to seem unrealistic. Maybe you’ve gotten so busy keeping things moving that you forgot what actually excited you in the first place. Jupiter helps widen the field again.

There’s also more social ease around this aspect. People could be more receptive, conversations can feel less loaded, and something that felt like a dead end earlier in the month could look different once you stop assuming the answer is already no. You don’t need to turn every opportunity into a five-year plan. Sometimes it’s enough to let something interesting be interesting.

The Sun opposes Chiron on October 21, and this one goes somewhere more personal. Chiron speaks to old wounds, and an opposition can bring them into direct contact with your sense of identity. For Leo, that can touch the places where confidence and approval have gotten tangled together over time.

You’ve probably had moments where somebody’s reaction mattered more than you wanted it to. A lack of praise, a weird tone, being left out, being misunderstood. Leo gets caricatured as attention-hungry, but most of the time you’re after something simpler: you want to feel recognized for who you actually are.

Around the 21st, try not to let one person’s response become a verdict on your worth. Somebody can miss what you were trying to offer. Somebody can fail to appreciate you properly. That hurts, but it doesn’t automatically mean you misjudged yourself.

The Sun enters Scorpio on October 23, and the atmosphere gets heavier. Scorpio season is less interested in presentation and more interested in what’s sitting underneath it. That can be uncomfortable for Leo because dignity is one of your favorite forms of self-protection. You’d rather hold yourself together and figure out the deeper feeling later.

Later is now.

This part of October can make you more aware of what you’ve been trying not to admit. Maybe you’re more hurt than angry. Maybe you’re more attached than you’d like to be. Maybe you’ve been pretending something doesn’t matter because caring this much makes you feel exposed. None of that makes you weak. It just means the armor is getting less necessary.

On October 24, the Sun conjuncts Venus retrograde. Venus brings relationships, attraction, money, pleasure, and self-worth into direct contact with your ruling planet. Because Venus is retrograde, there’s a strong chance the subject has history attached.

You could reconsider what you want from a relationship or realize that attention that once felt flattering now feels draining. An old insecurity could come back around in a new form. You might even recognize that you’ve been chasing approval from someone whose opinion has way too much control over your mood.

This is where October asks you to get selective. Leo has plenty of warmth to give, but not everybody deserves unlimited access to it.

Then the Sun squares Pluto on October 26, the same day as the Full Moon in Taurus. Pluto deals with power, control, and the deeper emotional currents that make people dig in when they’re afraid of losing something. A square creates pressure, and with your ruling planet involved, this can bring out the part of you that would rather double down than admit something no longer fits.

The Taurus Full Moon adds another stubborn note. Taurus wants security. Leo wants conviction. Put them together, and it can become very easy to stay loyal to a decision just because changing your mind feels embarrassing.

Ask yourself what you’re actually protecting. Is it the relationship, the plan, the job, the reputation? Or is it the version of yourself who once believed this was the right choice?

Those are different things.

October starts by asking you to consider other people more carefully and ends by asking you to consider yourself more honestly. The Sun moves from Libra’s concern with balance into Scorpio’s need for emotional truth, while Mars stays in Leo the whole time, reminding you that your fire is still there.

You don’t need to prove that fire by reacting to everything. Sometimes confidence looks like knowing what deserves you.

Thus concludes your monthly highlights. For more specific celestial analyses, make sure to read your daily and weekly horoscope as well. Good luck, Leo! See you next month.
