Some of Donald Trump’s most devoted foot soldiers are starting to feel like they were sold a bill of goods — and now they are furious, according to a report.
The Front Row Joes — the roving band of superfans who’ve built portions of their lives around “chasing Trump rallies across the country” — once symbolized unconditional loyalty. Now some are splintering over what they see as broken promises and outright lies, with a few telling Politico Playbook they’d welcome a third impeachment.
Trisha Hope, who joined the group in 2018 after buying an RV and publishing a book of Trump’s old tweets to help fund her travel, didn’t mince words: Trump is “a fraud and liar.”
During his first impeachment, she spent two weeks walking the halls of Congress defending him — “I went to every single senator’s office as well as Republican congressmen,” she told Playbook. “I did everything I could for him.”
Now, she says the only thing that would bring her back to Washington is the opposite cause: “If we do lose the midterms and he is impeached again, I will be walking the halls of Congress in support of that impeachment.”
Hope traces her break to a July 2025 Cabinet meeting, when Trump cut off a question about the Justice Department’s Epstein files by snapping, “Are you still talking about Jeffrey Epstein? This guy’s been talked about for years.”
“It was like a dagger in my heart,” Hope recalled. “It was like a light switch went on and a veil lifted, and I saw him for who he was, and I have not been able to unsee it since.” Trump’s shifting claims about the Iran war, she added, only confirmed it.
Founding “Joe” Rick Frazier, who’s attended more than 100 rallies, shares her disillusionment over Epstein and what he calls Trump’s abandoned no-war promise.
“He can’t be trusted,” Frazier told Playbook, adding he’s now considering skipping the midterms entirely: “I’m to the point of not going to the polls in November.”
“Sean Spicer, the former White House press secretary who also produced a documentary about the Front Row Joes, told Playbook defections from loyalists like Rick make him more concerned heading into November about the softer voters who helped put Trump over the top without ever fully identifying with MAGA,” Playbook reported, with Spicer adding, “Can another candidate even really pull off a rally? It’s like asking where Deadheads go after the Grateful Dead broke up.”
