Carrot Top has been released from the hospital and is recovering at home with his family following his suicide attempt last week, Page Six can confirm.
The comedian, whose real name is Scott Thompson, is back home and “doing well” after spending several days in the hospital.
The update, which was first reported by People, comes after the 61-year-old was hospitalized in critical condition following a suicide attempt at his Las Vegas home on Sept. 18.
According to a police report previously obtained by Page Six, the longtime Las Vegas headliner was found unconscious near the pool in his backyard after his manager called authorities for a welfare check.
Thompson had reportedly spoken with his manager by phone shortly before the incident and expressed concern about an article that was set to be published about him.
After the call ended, the comic sent his manager a chilling, one-word text, and then stopped responding, prompting his manager to contact police.
Thompson was rushed to a local hospital, where he remained under medical care for nearly a week.
His rep, Jami Schlicher, shared a positive update with Page Six on Sept. 20, revealing the comic was awake, breathing on his own and continuing to improve.
“Scott remains hospitalized and under close medical care. He is now awake, breathing on his own and continuing to improve, surrounded by his family and those closest to him,” Schlicher told us at the time.
She added that Thompson had even been sharing “moments of humor” with the medical staff treating him and had been moved by messages of support from fans.
“Many messages from fans have been shared with Scott, including stories from people about how his comedy helped them through difficult periods in their own lives,” Schlicher said.
“Hearing those stories and feeling that support has meant a great deal to him during his recovery.”
The comedian’s hospitalization came amid a contentious legal battle with musician Brian Evans, who previously opened for Thompson’s long-running show at the Luxor Hotel and Casino.
As Page Six previously reported, Thompson’s attorney, Ronnie Bitman, alleged in a Sept. 3 court filing that Evans threatened to publicly file a sexually explicit video of the comedian unless he was paid $500,000.
Evans has denied the extortion allegations, telling Page Six that he “never threatened — ever — to post any video anywhere in exchange for a settlement.”
He also claimed the video had been “deleted a long time ago” in accordance with a previous settlement.
Thompson’s attorneys subsequently referenced his suicide attempt in court filings while seeking protective relief in the ongoing dispute.
The comedian’s long-running residency at the Luxor, where he has performed since 2005, has been on hiatus since his hospitalization.
It was not immediately clear when Thompson would return to the stage, but TMZ reported Friday that Carrot Top canceled his Las Vegas shows for the next three weeks.
Schlicher previously said Thompson and his family were “deeply grateful for the extraordinary kindness” they had received while asking that his privacy be respected as he recovered.
