President Donald Trump and New York Mayor Zohran Mamdani will meet in New York City on Monday, according to the mayor’s office and the White House.
“The meeting will focus on issues affecting New York City and New Yorkers,” Mamdani’s press office told The Washington Post in a statement.
The pair are slated to meet at Gracie Mansion, the mayor’s official residence in Manhattan.
The two Queens natives have met three times — Monday’s meeting will be their second meeting since Mamdani took office in January and their first meeting to take place in New York City.
Trump will be in town for the United Nations General Assembly meetings.
Despite their political differences, Trump and Mamdani appeared to strike a rapport during their first meeting in November 2025.
The two met privately at the White House in February. The mayor has said he has Trump’s number and they text back and forth.
Their relationship has not stopped the president from criticizing Mamdani, a democratic socialist, and his policy initiatives.
“People are fleeing. They must change their ways, AND FAST. History has proven, THIS “STUFF” JUST DOESN’T WORK,” Trump said in April.
