Bill Belichick, 74, slams ‘ridiculous’ rumors about girlfriend Jordon Hudson, 25, managing his coaching career

Bill Belichick took aim at what he called “ridiculous” rumors about his girlfriend Jordon Hudson managing his coaching career.

The North Carolina Tar Heels head coach, 74, told the Wall Street Journal in an interview published Wednesday that despite rumors generated by her presence on the sidelines at football games — and a widely maligned interview during which Hudson intervened to stop questions about their relationship — the beauty pageant contestant, 25, has no official role in her man’s football program.

“The way the story was picked up was a long way from that,” he told the outlet. “Like, ‘She’s trying to be the general manager of the team,’ and it’s so ridiculous.”

According to the outlet, students from the Marching Tar Heels claimed they saw Hudson leaving football practice multiple times last year.

Additionally, Belichick reportedly asked communications staff at UNC to copy his girlfriend on his emails, which, according to the iconic coach, sparked “misunderstanding” regarding their work together.

“When I took the job here, it was December, and at that time I was doing five TV shows, the radio show, I had a book coming out,” he explained. “I had a lot of other things going on when I took the job.”

He went on, “I sent an email when I got here and I said, ‘Can you please forward any requests to Jordon about my personal appearances so that I can work and coordinate them outside the university?’ Didn’t have anything to do with the university.”

Belichick went on to claim “that was leaked [and] released as ‘Jordon’s involved in every single thing that I do and she’s copied on every email.’” He called the idea “just a flat-out lie.”

Per WSJ, when asked what Hudson’s involvement looks like, Belichick responded, “There are some things that she helps me schedule or look at. It’s not North Carolina stuff.”

A university spokesperson confirmed to the outlet that Hudson doesn’t have football “responsibilities.”

Hudson does, however, list herself as COO of Belichick Productions via LinkedIn, as well as founder of a company called Trouble Cub Enterprises, through which she applied for trademarks on catchphrases her boyfriend is known for.

Trouble Cub also filed to trademark the phrase “gold digger” in August 2025. According to documents obtained by Page Six, Hudson intended the phrase to be used for jewelry or keychains.

Per WSJ, during the months between December 2025 and June 2026, the cheerleaderalso filed public records requests asking for copies of communications between university staff and the media regarding her relationship with Belichick.

Regarding a potential motive for the requests, Belichick told the outlet that he doesn’t “want to speak for” Hudson.

“I think if you look at her requests, you would probably find that she was asking for things that had already been sent,” he said, noting that he hadn’t seen the requests themselves.

Hudson — who declined an interview with the outlet — came upon Belichick during the discussion, according to the publication, and uttered “oop,” before turning and walking the other way.

Hudson was not immediately available to Page Six for comment.

Controversy about the age-gap couple’s relationship erupted in April 2025, when Hudson interrupted journalist Tony Dokoupil on “CBS Sunday Morning” when Belichick was asked how they met.

“We’re not talking about that,” she said bluntly from off-camera.

Doukopil noted in a voiceover that the pair didn’t feel “comfortable” talking about their relationship, adding that Hudson was a “constant presence” during the interview amid publicity for Belichick’s book, “The Art of Winning: Lessons from My Life in Football.”

When asked by the reporter how he handles criticism of his relationship with the nearly 50-years-youngerHudson, the former NFL coach replied, “I’ve never been too worried about what everybody else thinks.”

He added, “Just try to do what I feel like is best for me and what’s right.”

The moment almost instantly went viral, but Belichick stood by Hudson with a public statement days later, claiming he’d made it clear to the show that he was there to promote his book, and that the “expectation was not honored during the interview.”

“Unfortunately, that expectation was not honored during the interview,” he continued in a statement obtained by Page Six at the time. “I was surprised when unrelated topics were introduced, and I repeatedly expressed to the reporter, Tony Dokoupil, and the producers that I preferred to keep the conversation centered on the book.”

Belichick alleged that “after this occurred several times,” his girlfriend — with whom he enjoys a “personal and professional relationship” — interjected in order to “reiterate that point to help refocus the discussion.”

The legendary football coach also alleged that the final cut presented “selectively edited clips and stills from just a few minutes of the interview to suggest a false narrative — that Jordon was attempting to control the conversation — which is simply not true.”
