FBI Director Kash Patel’s evasive answers to questions from Democrats at a recent Senate Judiciary Committee hearing were ridiculed on MS NOW early Wednesday morning.
Patel’s Tuesday performance led “Morning Joe” co-host Joe Scarborough to argue the embattled appointee of President Donald Trump was doing all he could to avoid being found out.
After sharing a clip of Patel’s attackon Sen. Peter Welch (D-VT), Scarborough pounced.
Singling out Patel’s repeated comment about a “charade of lies,“ Scarborough repeated the phrase and remarked with a smirk.
“Hold on, hold on, let’s try this out,” he said. “I’m going to be careful. You ask me what my favorite cereal is. Go ahead.”
MS NOW contributor John Heilemann played along and somberly asked, “Sir, what is your favorite cereal?”
Scarborough dryly replied, “I have come here to help the American people better understand. But I am not going to participate in your charade of lies.”
“What does that even mean?” he exclaimed. “He just asked him a question: ‘Are you going to have the FBI go to, you know, polling places? Yes or no?’”
“And he calls —,” he continued before pausing and addressing co-host Willie Geist and joking, “I wish, Willie, years ago when we started the Sally Struthers fundraising campaign for ‘Republicans with Acting Limitations,’ I wish more would have gone in.”
